The two books I read this summer were Pretty Tough and Go Ask Alice. Out of the two books Pretty Tough was my favorite. This is because it was more intense and I can relate better to the book. For example the main character was always unsure of many things in her life. Also she took most of her anger out on her older sister. I didn’t like the book Go Ask Alice because most of the time I did not understand what was going on. This is why I liked Pretty Tough better.

I read two books this summer. One of the books was Hatchet. The other was My Side of the Mountain. My favorite book of the two was Hatchet. This is because of the way the main character Brian would teach himself about living by himself in the wilderness. Also, it made me think about what would happen if I was on a plane with just the pilot and me, and the plane crashed in the middle of the forest, with no one knowing what happened to me. So out of the two books this summer, Hatchet was my favorite.

The two books I have read over the summer are The Sisters of the Sword by Maya Snow and Sisters of the Sword: Chasing the Secret by Maya Snow. My favorite one was The Sisters of the Sword because of the way the book displayed emotions of revenge and sadness combined with determination. It seemed more secretive then the second book Sisters of the Sword: Chasing the Secret because Japan in the days where the Jito ruled, girls were not allowed to have knowledge on using a katana. The sisters in this book defied that rule by dressing as boys and entering a dojo for fighting arts. It made me think there might be an interesting twist to the story.

I read two books for the summer reading assignment. Those two were The Giver by Lois Lowry and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. My favorite out of the two was The Outsiders. Even though both books had a great story line and message, I think The Outsiders had a stronger one and I could relate to it. In The Outsiders, it was about a boy maturing in an environment with many temptations. But under the circumstances, he rose above expectations and bettered himself. One quote from the book really stood out. It was when Ponyboy’s, the main character, friend was dying in the hospital and he told him to “Stay Gold”. And by that he meant to stay pure and innocent. All in all, the book was amazing with depth and description and that’s why it was my favorite out of the two.

For my 2 summer reading books, I read The Last Olympian and Oath Breaker. My favorite out of the two was The Last Olympian, because it was a very intense and page turning story. I also enjoyed this story because it was the conclusion of a 5 book series. I was disappointed by the ending though. It left you wondering what was going to happen next. This book also taught me a lot about Greek mythology, since most of the characters were gods, demigods, or monsters.

Over the summer I read a book called Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover. I liked this book because I teaches you a good lesson. It teaches you to not judge a person by their first appearance. When you first see a person don’t say you don’t like them because of what they are wearing wait till you get to know them to say if you like them or not. Sometimes you may not like what your friends wear but you may like them for their personalities.

The two books I read this summer were Lisa’s War and Go Ask Alice. I liked Go Ask Alice better because it was in journal form and I like when books are written that way. I also liked Go Ask Alice more because it was intense and made me want to keep reading. Lisa’s War was okay but wasn’t as interesting as Go Ask Alice. These reasons show why I liked Go Ask Alice better.

Over the summer I read two books. One of the books I read was Bluford High Blood is Thicker. I also read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. My favorite of the two was Bluford High Blood is Thicker. I enjoyed this book the most because it was more realistic than Harry Potter. In Blood is Thicker, there are real life situations. In the book the characters deal with real life situations. One thing that they have to deal with is their father being diagnosed with cancer. They had to move in with their family in Detroit. Another thing the characters deal with is being misunderstood. One of the characters is seen as a thug by his parents. He is actually rapping and not getting in trouble. I liked it a lot more than Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

The two books I read over the summer were All About Cars and the second book was, Goosebumps. Both books were very interesting but the book I enjoyed more was All About Cars. The reason why I thought that All About Cars book was better, because I have an interest in cars and I really like learning new facts about cars. I was reading many things that I didn’t know about cars before. The book included many facts about cars including prices, engine, horsepower, and many other things. After I read the book, I learned a variety of different things about cars. I liked the book Goosebumps as well, because when you read the first sentence, it grabs your attention which makes you want to keep reading on. Those were the two books that I read and enjoyed over the summer.

Over the summer I read two books. I read, Hit and Run, and Joshua’s Song. My favorite book was Hit and Run because it had a lot of suspense. It was about a girl who got hit by a car and how it affected everyone else in her school and family. Also how the people that hit her were affected. They never told anyone that they hit her so they had to live the rest of their lives guilty. This book was good because it had a lot of action and suspense, so it never got boring.

My favorite book that I read over the summer was Wrestling Sturbridge. It was my favorite because the author made the characters seem very realistic in a sense. He wrote the book with such detail that it seemed as if the characters were acting out the scenes in my head. I also liked this story because the story itself was good. It sent a good message that if you try hard enough at what you want, you will succeed .

The two books that I read over the summer were The Sorceress by Michael Scott, and Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. My favorite of the two books was Into the Wild. Very little books entertained me during the 14 years of my life, but this one cut a deep hole in my heart that I will never forget. Every single word in this book has meaning and is not boring to me. The book talks about the journey of a dead American young man who wanted to go deep into Alaska and explore. During he’s ‘expedition, something went terribly wrong up there and the young man died mysterily. Four months later, three moose hunters found his decomposed body…

Over the summer I read The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway and The Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Out of the two books I read I liked The Old Man and the Sea better because it had more adventure and action that I could relate to. I could relate to this book because it was about fishing and I have been fishing before. Also, I liked this book because the main character has a struggle with the fish and overcomes it and catches the fish.

One book that I read over the summer was called Sweet 16 Princess by Meg Cabot. I liked this book because I sometimes think about I am going to do or plan my sweet sixteen. Another reason why I like this book is because I can relate to the main character Mia because she gets annoyed by her grandma and friend trying to plan everything and tell her what to do and she doesn’t need her telling her that. Those are two reasons why Sweet 16 Princess was on of the books that I liked and read over the summer.

Over my exotic summer of reading, I read two books Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and Night hoops by Carl Deuker. Between the two spectacular books I read I have to say that Stormbreaker was better because it was more action packed and it was like a James Bond movie with shooting. When reading I pictured the book in my head and it felt like I was watching a movie. My favorite part of the book was when Alex Rider took down a whole army of men at the factory. I do recommend this book for anyone that likes action books or movies.

Over the summer I have read Hatchet and Dog Song, both by Gary Paulson. Both of the books were very good but I liked Hatchet the most. Hatchet is about a boy that’s going to go see his father in Canada and the plane driver has a heart attack. He lands the plane into a lake, and now must survive the Canadian wilderness. I liked this book because it was full of adventure. While reading the book I had a constant picture of his surroundings. Hatchet is a very good book and I would recommend it to everyone.

Over my exciting summer full of reading, I read the books, Bleachers by Josh Grisham and That Was Then This Is Now by S.E. Hinton. Out of the two books I read, I liked Bleachers the best for many reasons. One reason I liked it was because of all of the flashbacks and memories that were told. The author talked about memories of the coach who died and they were very detailed and it made it seem as if I was in the story listening to the people talk. This book was about a person who was a football star in high school and was now an adult. His football coach from high school, Eddie Rake, died and he came back to Messina for his funeral. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends because they are all athletes and this book is about sports.
